CROSSING SMASH
LORRY DRIVER INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 20. A motor-lorry owned by the Stratford Carrying Company and driven by Mr T. Reesby, Inglewood, was struck by the locomotive of a Stratford-New Plymouth goods train on the Rugby Road crossing between Tariki and Inglewood today. Though the lorry was almost completely destroyed, the driver escaped with injuries to the head and shoulders and shock. He was taken to the Stratford Hospital, where his condition tonight was reported to be not serious.
