"ACTED STUPIDLY”
CHARGE AGAINST MASTERTON MAN. A fine of £1 and 10s costs was imposed on Ernest Minifie when he appeared in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court today charged with casting offensive matter in a public place. Mr J. Macfarlane Laing, who appeared for defendant entered a plea of guilty. Minitie, he said, was a very foolish young fellow. If he had a drink or two it went to his head and he acted stupidly. "I cannot suppress his name, when he is only liable to a fine," remarked Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., when lining defendant as stated.
