CRITICAL AMENITIES
(To the Editor.) Sir, — Your correspondent, “Jim Fogan” rather cramps his style when he essays, in such small compass of space, to criticise, in his usual friendly way, three items of correspondence, by other contributors, at one hit. Regarding “That Hole in the Hill” letter of mine which his subtlety of wit construes into “That Hole in the Wall” his advice must carry some weight as he appears to be in the confidence of men who “get things done,” and I certainly shall have a peep through “Jim Fogan’s” famous Rimutaka Wall (or hole, or whatever he' likes to name it) when the good work of piercing it is done. By that time, I take it, “Jim Fogan” (unless he chooses to be embalmed) will be a candidate for the new crematorium he would like to see established in the Masterton cemetery, whose burials are so obnoxious to him. Most poets of the rough and ready kind are averse to baths, but I am glad to find one who is not only willing to be bathed, but to be burned!—I am. etc., “PROCRASTINATION.” Grey town, April 17. »
