TWO FIRE CALLS

RUBBISH AND GRASS OUTBREAKS. A fire among rubbish and cases at the rear of the W.F.C.A. was responsible for the Masterton Brigade being called out at about 6 o’clock this morning. It is stated that the fire was probably caused by spontaneous combustion. The brigade quickly extinguished the flames. A grass fire occurred on a section at the corner of Devon and Donald streets just before noon today. The Masterton Fire Brigade was summoned and two engines proceeded to the scene. The fire was extinguished before any damage was done. , .■
