A bag of 37 salmon of a total weight of about 4001 b, caught by a party of four men, was the best taken at the Waitaki river over the Easter holidays The two best fish weigned 241 b each. Several other good bags were reported, the best being of nine fish. The river, which was very low, especially near the bridge, was in splendid condition for fishing. Most of the bags were taken at the bridge, where it is reported it was possible to wade 1 across.
