GREYHOUND RACING

FINAL FIXTURE ON APRIL 29. A meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Coursing Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last evening. The final greyhound racing fixture of the season will be held on Saturday. April 29. Added interest is being taken in this meeting as the Wairarapa championship will be decided over the 440 yards flat and hurdles. Good prize money has been added to both races, and as the Wairarapa Ice Cream Co. Cup will be competed for in the flat race and Mr C. E. Grey’s handsome trophy in the hurdles, record nominations are confidently expected. Handsome hand-painted ribbons will be presented to the champions. The club has invested in an entirely new plant. A heavy gauge wire has been procured and this will be laid at the track during the weekend. This, combined with a new motor and cord should ensure the smooth running of the sport.
