DRAMA LEAGUE

WAIRARAPA BRANCH ANNUAL MEETING. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. There was a representative attendance at the annual meeting of the Wairarapa branch of the British Drama League, held in the Parish Hall last evening. Mr T. Jordan, president of the branch, was in the chair.' Apologies for absence were received, from Mesdames Hair, Mirams, J. F. Thompson (Greytown), Messrs G. W. Morice and J. A. Kennedy. The annual report, recording a very successful year and the balance sheet, showing a most satisfactory bank balance, were adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year;—President, Mr T. Jordan; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. F Thompson (Greytown), Gibb-John-ston (Carterton), Messrs G. W. Morice, S. Kilsby and the Rev. J. J. Holland, secretary, Miss P. Jordan; Mi V Joseph; committee, Mesdames E. J. Rich, M. Cleghorn, Misses O. R. Sutherland. M. Dwyer and B. Coleman and Mr J. A. Kennedy. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee to hold a drama school this year. Another recommendation to the incoming committee was that endeavours be made to interest other Wairarapa centres in the work of the league and that if possible members of the committee visit these centres. Mrs E. J. Rich, who has been the most energetic and efficient secretary of the league for five and a half years, has this year found it necessary togive up the work, and expressions of the great appreciation of members of hei work were passed for insertion in th records of the league. fff>n nrnl An account of the recent general meeting in Wellington was given bj Mrs M Cleghorn. The new constitution was explained and the election of New Zealand officers was outlined. A meeting of the National Council wifi be held in Wellington on May 6 and Mr G. W.
