The annual report of the Featherston Miniature Rifle Club states inter alia: —The standard of shooting by members was very good considering they were nearly all young shots. In the interclub fixtures your club finished third on the ladder, but had to strike theii colours to the South Featherston and Masterton clubs, to whom we offer our congratulations on their fine shooting. All the club cups and trophies-were keenly contested for, and nearly all had to be shot off for to decide the winner. Miss J. Brash won the championship of the club, and put on some brilliant shooting. We wish to congratulate her on her win, also on being the first lady to have that honour since the club was formed in 1914. The club was represented at the Wairarapa and Wellington Association’s meetings, and won. a fair share of the prize money. Misses J. Brash and P. Nix competed in the ladies’ championship meeting at Wellington, and by their fine shooting put the Featherston Club on the map once again. During the season we had our annual match with the Harbour Board Club. The interest taken in this match was more than usual by the very generous action of Mr Moriarty, who presented a very handsome cup for this competition. We wish to take this opportunity to thank Mr Moriarty for his continued generosity to» the club. The match was won by Featherston, who have the honour of holding the cup for the first time. Financially
your club is in a strong position thanks to the very energetic committee who arranged the dance and carried it though to show a splendid profit. We wish to thank them on behalf of the club.—Wm. Johnson, President.
