ANTI-JEWISH BILL
REJECTED BY SOUTH AFRICAN 1 ASSEMBLY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. CAPE TOWN, April 14. The Assembly rejected by 81 votes to 17 Mr Louw’s anti-Jewish Bill. Mr Louw introduced a Bill with the object of preventing further Jewish immigration, asserting that if South Africa did not tackle the problem occurrences in certain European countries would be repeated in that country. South Africa’s proportion of Jewish inhabitants was the fourth highest in the world, 5 per cent, which Jewish leaders, it was stated, admitted was the danger line.
