OPENING TOURNAMENT. ON WAIRARAPA COLLEGE COURTS. /The basketball season will be opened tomorrow, when the annual tournament will be held on the Wairarapa Collie Courts. Entries have Been received from seventeen teams which should provide exciting and spectacular play. The public, who so much enjoyed the basketball display in the street during Fitness Week, are cordially invited to be present and a collection will be taken for representative team expenses. The charge for players for the afternoon is 3d, which should be given to the team captain. The draw, times,and referees are as follow:— A Grade. First found: (1) Stars v College A. Court I, 1.45 p.m. P. Kilmister. (2) College B v Collegians, Court 2, 1.45 p.m. O. R. Sutherland. (3) H.S.O.G. v lona, Court 1; 2.10 p.m. D. O'Donnell. (4) Carterton a bye. Second round: (1) Winners l.y Winners .2, Court 2, £.20 p.m. B. Venner. (2) Winners 3 v Carterton, Court 1, 2.45 p.m. R. K. Edwards. Final: Court 2, 3.2(1 p.m. D. O'Donnell. 3 Grade. x First round: (1) toha.v College Colts, Court 3, 1.45 p.ih. J. RusSell. (2) College C v College E, Court 5, 1.45 p.m. L. Renner. Second round: (1) Winners.! v Winners 2, Court 5, 2.20 p.m. A. Burgess or M. Carroll. (2) H.S.O.G. v College D. Court 3, 2.10 p.m. C. E. Parsons. (3) T.O.G. v Belvedere, Court 3. 2.45 p.m. D.
