AMERICAN TEST BOMBER PILOT KILLED & MACHINE DESTROYED. ONLY TWO ENTRIES LEFT. 3v Telegranh—Press Association—Copyright WASHINGTON, April 12. Only two entries, those of the Stearman and Glenn Martin factories remain out of the four submitted by aeroplane manufacturers for tests to select a standard type of bomber for the air expansion programme. The entry of the North American Aviation Company, . a twin-engined bomber built at a cost of 500,000 dollars, crashed today and was destroyed by fire. The pilot was killed. The Douglas Aircraft Company’s entry crashed in January, precipitating a Congressional inquiry because a French air official was aboard.
