GREASEPROOF ECONOMY

USE UP “LEFT OVERS.” If there is any pastry left over on baking day, don't throw it away, wrap it up in greaseproof paper and keep in a cool place. It will last for as long as a week. Sandwiches left over from a party may be kept fresh till tea-time the following day by placing a slice of bread on the top and on the bottom of the pile and wrapping the whole in greaseproof paper.

Bacon will keep for many days even in the hottest weather if it is heated till it slightly changes colour; then wrapped in greaseproof paper.
