— THE ITALIAN PROGRAMME NO MORE CALLING UP MEANTIME. ACCORDING TO OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 11.30 a.m.) ROME, April 11. An official communique says: “With the calling up of the full 1901 to 1912 classes-,.and the.presence with the colours, of. the full 1917-18 and part of the 1919 classes, and the partial recall of specialists in other classes, the armed forces have reached imposing levels. Provided no exceptional circumstances arise, there will be no more calling up.” It is estimated that there are now over a million men under arms. Political writers understand the communique is intended .to combat rumours that general mobilisation is imminent. “ONE CANNOT SEE” GAYDA ON THE. INVASION OF ALBANIA. Signor Virgino Gayda. in the “Giornale DTfalia,” says: “One cannot see how Italy’s occupation of Albania shctild upset the Mediterranean situation. One cannot see where is the threat to Britain’s vital interests.” Signor Gayda refers to Gibraltar as Spanish territory and to Malta as ItaL ian soil. “Should some ill-considered decision be .reached to attempt to bar the road mapped out by Italy,” he adds, “she will Calmly cohsider such an unjust reaction in its true significance, and take the necessary steps to oppose it.” .
