Although no definite arrangements have yet been made it is anticipated that Norman von Nida and Eric Ciemin, two of Australia’s leading golf professionals, who are to arrive in New Zealand shortly, will play exhibition matches at the Lansdowne links. Both players are scheduled to compete in the American open championship, and the British open championship. Von Nida’s record is impressive In 1935-36-37 he won the Queensland open championship; in 1936 the Queensland closed championship, the Darling Downs professional championship, the • New South Wales professional championship, in 1936-37 the New South Wales foursomes championship with V. S. Richardson, 1937 the Federal Capital open championship; 1938 the Lakes open championship. In 1938 he was runner-up for the Australian open championship, and in 1938-39 he won the Philippines open championship. Tn challenge matches von Nida in 1936 defeated Gene Sarazen, in 1937 Walter Hagen, and in 1938 Bobby Locke. Cremin has twice won both the Australian and the New South Wales professional championships.
