Cocksure Wins at Riccarton GREAT NORTHERN ST. LEGER TO BEAUPARTIR LADY MONTANA SALUJES THE JUDGE DEFAULTER BEATEN AT RANDWICK The Easter Racing Carnivals in New Zealand and Australia yesterday were greeted with fine weather. At Riccarton Cocksuie won the Great Easter Handicap in a brilliant manner and in record time. At Ellerslie Beaupartir won the Great Northern St Leger from end to end. Lady Montana scored comfortably in the Autumn Handi- • cap at Tauherenikau while Wildflower brought off a surprise win in the Easter Handicap at Feilding. In the Sydney Cup at Randwick Defaulter ran a disappointing race and was never dangerous, finishing second to last. Hie race was won by the New Zealand bred Mosaic, a course record being established.
