t SOUTH WAIRARAPA GUN CLUB. SHOOTING MEETING ON APRIL 22. (“Tiir.es-Age” Special.) A committee meeting of the South Wairarapa Gun Club was held on Tuesday evening, there being present Messrs G. Sutherland (chairman), S. Hall, R. Buick, H. Swainson, S. Thomas (treasurer), and Macdonald (secretary). It was resolved to hold an open shoot on Saturday, April 22, for prizes totalling £35. It was decided to donate £4 4s and £1 Is cash prizes for competitions obtaining the most number of birds off the 11yds. and 12yds. mark. Full particulars appear in the “TimesAge” advertising columns. The third round for the Brough Cup will be fired on April 15. Personal Items. Mrs Tilson, who has been holidaying in the North has returned home. Mr Neil Hume is spending a short holiday in Wellington. Messrs D., W. and C. Didsbury, Wellington, were the guests of their uncle, Mr R. McDougall, at the weekend. Miss Lena Matenga, who has been staying with friends in this district, returned home for the Easter holidays. Mr Thompson, who has been visiting friends here, have returned to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs James Duggan are spending the Easter holidays at Nelson. Mr and Mrs Taurau, and Misses Barclay and Taurau left today for Huntly to attend the Mormon annual conference which is to be held over the weekend. ~ Mr Reiuga Matenga, who is an inmate of the Greytown Hospital, was operated on for appendicitis recently. He is progressing favourably. Severe Frost. A severe frost was experienced in this district on Friday morning doing considerable damage to tomatoes and other crops. Wairarapa Lake. Conditions have been most unfavourable for opening the outlet of the lake. A heavy sea has been running most of the past week.
