WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
SOLWAY-MANAIA MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Solway-Manaia Women’s Institute was held on Thursday last. A welcome to new members was extended by the president, Mrs S. Munn. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames R. Allan, Sharman, Cotton, Doggett,-.Aplin, Moms, Whittaker, McMichael and Church. Mrs Crewe was accorded a vote of thanks for her demonstration on seed WOrk - ni , The competitions resulted as follows:— African, Mrs Munn, 1* French, Mrs Woollett, 1; coffee sponge, Mrs Woollett; oatcake, Miss McAllister, 1. ‘ The roll call for May will be:— My net aversion.” The competitions next month will be as follows: —Best chrysanthemum, knitted vest (for Plunket Society), sausage rolls, three varieties of jelly.
