PLUNKET CARNIVAL. RED QUEEN CAMPAIGN. □ (“Times-Age” Special.) A shop day in aid of'the Red Queen Candidate in the Plunket Carnival (Miss Ngaire Tocker) which was held , in the Town Hall on Thursday was very successful. The takings amounti ed to £47 3s. The various well-laden stalls did t splendid business. The .stall holders were as follow: — ; Prqduce and meat: Mesdames H. > Graham, S. Benton, Willis, Messrs I Graham, Benton and R. Tocker; Cakes: > Mesdames Chisholm, Ingley, G. Yule, : D. Bunt, Wakely; Sweets: Mesdames 1 P. Wilton, Simmons, Misses M. Tocker, 1 G. Renwick; Flowers, Mrs Archie Clark; Tea Rooms: Mrs T. Mathews and bank helpers; Ice Cream: Misses P. Nix, N. Reid; Competitions and Darts, Mr Bain, bottle tops: Mr A. Reed; Typo, Mr Rasmussen. The winner of the box of Easter eggs donated by Miss Eileen Chisholm yas Master John Donald, and the winner of the dinner was Mr S. Batchelor. The cake given by Miss Thorn was won by Mrs Lumsden. The sucking pig donated -by Miss Leignton was won by Mrs H. D. Willis. A mock court held in the evening caused much amusement, Mr J. W. Holland acting as judge. Presbyterian Church. The morning service at the Presbyterian Church yesterday was well attended as was the afternoon and evening services. At the evening service an augmented choir gave Sir John Stainer’s “Story of the Cross.” Euchre Party and Dance. The Easter euchre party and dance held in Kaiwaiwai Hall on Wednesday night was very successful, there being a good attendance of both euchre players and dancers. The prize-winners in the card tournament were: ladies, Miss Dorothy Chilsholrn, 1; Mrs Kinsey, 2; Mrs Whitehead, 3. Men, Mr A. Ashworth, 1; Mr A. Rendle, 2; Mr A. B. •Fuge, 3. _________________
