YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB
MEETING IN MASTERTON. JUDGING TEAM APPOINTED. The monthly meeting of Masterton Young Farmers’ Club was held in the Farmers’ Union rooms last night. There was an attendance of about 50 members. z Mr D. McGregor was re-elected president of the club. The secretary, Mr C. McKay, read a letter from Mr N. Lamont concerning a tour of the West Coast. A letter had also been received from the Alfredton Young Farmers’ Club inviting members of the Masterton Young Farmers’ Club to a dance to be held by them. Mr Lamont wrote concerning the election of a debating team to take part in a debate against the Martinborough Young Farmers' Club in May. It was decided on the motion of Mr Cruickshank that the matter by left to the executive to deal with. The following team was appointed to represent the local club in the Provincial judging competitions to be held .at the Training Farm on April 27:—Messrs G. Blatchford, D. McGregor and J. S. McKay. A Rimu Cup donated by an anonymous donor for the best attendance last year was won by Mr C. McKay. Mr W. F. McLaren donated 10s to the club social fund. After the business of the meeting had been disposed of a very interesting film ■■Reproduction in Animals” was shown by Mr Lamont. The president proposed ■a vote of thanks to Mr Lamont which was carried by acclamation. Supper was provided and much appreciated. During the evening a flashlight photograph was taken of the members present. The next meeting of the club will be held on May 3 and those interested arc invited to attend.
