HEAVY FROST
FRUIT AND VEGETABLES SUFFER A severe frost for this time of the year did considerable damage to market and household gardens in Masterton this morning. Tomatoes and pumpkins left uncovered suffered extensively and in some cases fairly large crops were destroyed. The frost, which was of 9.8 degrees, served to accentuate the difficulties under which vegetable and fruit growers have suffered owing to the dry season. For many it will be a most difficult season.
