OBITUARY

MR JOHN PARROTT LETT. The death occurred yesterday of Mr John Parrott Lett, an old and highly respected resident of the Taueru district. The late Mr Lett, who was 61 years of age, was a son of the late Mr Thomas Parrott Lett. He was born in Masterton and was educated at the Masterton Central School, later succeeding his father on the latter’s farm property at Taueru, known as Elmley, which he successfully farmed for many years. He is survived by his wife, who is a daughter of the late Mr A. E. Elkins, at one time proprietor of the Club Hotel, Masterton; a son. Mr J. Lett, and a daughter. Miss J. Lett, of Taueru. Mrs H. T. Beban, of Cole Street. Masterton, is a sister. The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving St Matthew’s Church after a service to be held at 3 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
