SHEEPSKINS AND HIDES

WELLINGTON SALE PRICES.

Competition was keen at the sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow held yesterday by the Wellington brokers. Sheepskins: Prices of woolly skins were generally' unchanged on last sale’s rates, but pelts and quarter wools were Jd to Id lower. ? Hides: Light and medium ox also cow were par to l-8d higher, with heavy ox Id lower; kip were slightly easier, while yearling and calf were firm.

The range of prices is as follows: —

Dry sheepskins: Halfbred, 7d to B',d; fine crossbred, 6?d To 8d; medium crossbred, 53d to 7yd; coarse crossbred, 6d to 8d; half wools, 3d to 7'd; quarter wools, 3Jd to 6:)d; pelts, 2Jd to Hides: Ox, 331 b to 441 b, 5 l-8d to 5Sd; 451 b to 521 b. 5Jd to 6d; 531 b to 591 b, 5 3-8 d to 601 b to 691 b, 5 5-8 d to 6 3-8 d; 701 b and over. 6d to 6 3-8 d; cow, 331 b to 391 b. 3 3-8 d to 5 7-8 d; 401 b to 481 b. 4 3-8 d to 53d: 491 b and over, 5 3-8 d to 53d; kin, 251 b to 321 b. 3d to 5 7-8 d: 171 b to 241 b, 5 7-8 d to 7d; yearling. 111 b to 161 b. 5Jd to 7 7-8 d; calf. 91b to 101 b. 7 7-8 d; 61b to 81b, 10 3-8 d; 1 lb to 51b. 7d to 10 3-Bd.
