BIBLE SOCIETY
EKETAHUNA BRANCH. ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Wednesday afternoon the annual meeting of the Eketahuna branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held in the Methodist Schoolroom, the room looking very bright with beautiful floral decorations and a blazing log fire. The Rev R. R. Keall was in the chair and conducted the hymn and usual devotions.
A vocal solo was given by Mrs Leonard Ives, and a dainty afternoon tea was served. , Mrs Violet Wakelin, organising secretary of the Wellington Province, addressed the meeting, giving a most interesting and instructive talk on the work of the Society which was much appreciated. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, the Rev Leonard Ives; vice-presidents, Mesdames Baillie, Ives, Keal, Fox and Hanson; hon secretary, Mrs W. G. Macky; committee, Mesdames Gallagher and Carter. Mr Keall’s vote of thanks to the speaker brought a happy afternoon tc a close.
