WANGAEHU
TENNIS CLUB WIND-UP. RESIDENTS FAREWELLED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Wangaehu School was filled tc capacity on Tuesday night, when the annual wind-up of the tennis club was held in conjunction with a farewell evening to Mr J. Greig and family, who are leaving the district. Dancing was indulged in until supper time. The duties of M.C. were efficiently carried out by Mr D. McGregor. The various cups won. during the season were presented by Mr J. G. Mackay tc the following: Miss Eunice Greig, winner of the ladies’ singles; Misses N. and K. Crozier, and E. Greig, who tied for the ladies’ doubles; Mr A. Saunders, who won the men’s singles and doubles championship, received two cups and a miniature. During the supper interval Mr Mackay, on behalf of the residents of Wangaehu, presented Mr Greig with a well-filled wallet. Both Mr J. M. James and Mi - Mackay expressed the regret of residents at the departure of Mr Greig and family from the district. Musical honours were accorded the guests of the evening. Supper was provided by the ladies of the district.
