FIGHTING AT LIENTANG. JAPANESE OBJECTIVE. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day. 11.50 a.m.) CHUNGKING. March 29. Fighting in the Kiangsi sector centres on Lientang 10 miles south of Nanchang, the Japanese are attempting to cut the railway between Nanchang and Pingsiang. Another column is attacking Kwashan 10 miles south of Lientang. The objective of the entire operation is the occupation of the Pingsiang colliery line south of Nanchang. thereby cutting off the Chinese retreat.
