TRADE TALKS
DISCUSSIONS WITH RUSSIA NEW PACT DESIRED. FRIENDLY EXCHANGE OF VIEWS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 27. At the conclusion of the talks between Mr R. S. Hudson, Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Overseas Trade, and Soviet trade leaders, the present trade relations of Britain and Russia and the possibilities of their further development were thoroughly discussed. Both parties made clear their respective positions and a number of essential differences were revealed, which presumably can be reduced to a minimum during further negotiations in London.
A friendly exchange of views occurred concerning international policy, serving mutually to acquaint both parties with their Government’s attitude and bringing out points of contact. The personal contacts established will doubtless assist in the consolidation of Anglo-Soviet relations. It was agreed that negotiations for a new trade pact should open in London as soon as possible.
