A Nationalist wireless message from Burgos announced that General Miaja had agreed upon an unconditional surrender of Madrid and a Defence Council’s radio message confirmed the surrender and advised the population to hoist the white flag. MIXED CORPS. LEADS FORCES INTO CITY. (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) BURGOS, March 28. The wireless station announced that a mixed Italian-Spanish corps, commanded by General Bambara led the entering forces into Madrid. DEMONSTRATION IN ROME. “LONG LIVE NATIONALIST SPAIN.” (Received This Day. 9.55 a.m.) ROME, March 28. . Crowds gathered in the piazza Venezia'after the news of the rail of Madrid, shouting: “Long live Nationalist Spain.” Signor Mussolini appeared on the balcony and acknowledged the demonstration. WILD CHEERING. BEFORE FRANCO’S EMBASSY AT LISBON. (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) LISBON, March 28. Crowds assembled at General Franco’s Embassy, cheering wildly.
