BOXING SEASON
TWO PROFESSIONAL BOUTS IN AUCKLAND. IBy Telegraph— Pips* AcseeiaMnn ■ AUCKLAND. March 27. The Auckland Boxing Association began its 1939 season tonight, when two professional matches were held, in addition to three amateur contests. The first professional bout was a welterweight between Don Johnson and Vic Caltaux, both of Auckland, and it was won by Johnson on points at the end of ten three-minute rounds. In the second professional match Harry Summers, Australian lightweight, made his first appearance in New Zealand, and he created a very favourable impression by decisively beating Brian McKay, Auckland.
