GOLD SHIPMENTS
BIG FLOW TO AMERICA CONTINUES. FEARS OF PRIVATE HOARDERS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, March 26. Heavy gold shipments to America continue and £13,000.000 worth left at the weekend, partly due to fears of private hoarders that gold would become a frozen asset or be sequestrated in the event of war.
The governments of small Continental countries within striking distance of Germany, including Belgium and Switzerland also are transferring portion of their gold reserves to New York.
