Mr Alex Donald, • a member of the Wellington Education Board, referred to the signal service to education given by Mr Maxwell, who had been a member of the Matahiwi School Committee for about 35 years. Mr Maxwell, who was received with musical honours, suitably acknowledged the gifts and the sentiments expressed.
