LONDON SALES. KEEN DEMAND FOR CROSSBRED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. ” LONDON, March 25. Offerings at the London wool sales have been well cleared with prices fuj’ly firm at the January level. A large proportion of the offering was greasy crossbred, for which there was the keenest competition, chiefly from the Home trade, but there was also some Russian bidding. There was also a strpng demand for the broader types of Merinos, but superfine wools did not meet good competition, though prices .were unchanged. Bradford remains firm, though the export trade is restricted because of the international situation, which involves the virtual closing, possibly only temporarily, of two important Continental markets, nam,ely Lithuania and Rumania.
