TE WHARAU

GOLF CLUB MEETING. SEASON TO OPEN ON APRIL 1. ("Times-Age” Special.) ■ A fairly well attended meeting of the Golf Club was held on Monday evening last the president, Mr S. Gray, being in the chair. Arrangements for the opening on Saturday, April 1, were discussed, and it was decided to send: an invitation to kindred clubs to be present. It was also decided to hold a dance in the hall in the evening. The club captain was authorised to purchase mats for the tees.

It was resolved to hold a two-day open tournament at Easter, when the East Coast championship and the Great Easter handicap will be decided. The chairman reported on the condition of the links and improvements that had been effected, stating that the prospects for the coming season looked very bright. The question of parking cars in front of the clubhouse was discussed at length, and it was decided to ask all car owners to park their cars on the portion of Driscoll Road, which has recently been metalled for that purpose.

Tennis Match. t The annual tennis match between the Te Wharau and Westmere clubs was played at Westmere last weekend, and though the Te Wharau team was defeated by 18 games to 14 the difference between the two teams is very little.
