CARELESS CYCLISTS

MENACE TO OTHER ROAD USERS. RIDING WITHOUT HOLDING HANDLE BARS. The increasing habit of many Masterton cyclists of both sexes of riding without their hands on the handle-bars was the subject of adverse comment by the Masterton Police today. It was pointed out that it is an offence to take both hands off the handle-bars. The danger of riding in such a careless manner was stressed. It was stated that on a recent afternoon 25 cyclists were seen riding without their hands on the bars. Apart from the danger to themselves, such cyclists are a definite menace to motor and other traffic.
