GRASS VERSUS LUCERNE. In Bulletin No. 611 (1938) of the United States Department of Agriculture, Woodward and Shepherd state that they have found that grass silage is more palatable than lucerne silage. The authors suggest that lucerne should be partly dried before being made into ensilage. In their bulletin, a comparison is made between the feeding qualities of lucerne silage and lucerne hay. and the results they obtained in their investigations are discussed.
