A BETTER FUTURE
HOPED FOR ALL NATIONS MAINTENANCE OF PEACE. , ANGLO-FRENCH DESIRE. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) LONDON. March 22. The decorated and crowded streets were reminiscent of the coronation as the Lebruns drove from Buckingham Palace to the Guildhall for luncheon. Seated in an open carriage the Lebruns headed a brilliant procession ineluding an escort of Lifeguards. The guests included the Duke and Duchess of Kent and M.M. Bonnet and Corbin. M. Lebrun, replying to the toast of his health, said that, without opposing themselves to anyone, England and France hope for a better future for all nations desiring only the maintenance and strengthening of peace, being anxious only to guarantee the security and happiness of rising generations wherever they belong. They, were resolved to undertake everything compatible with dignity and honour to prevent a return of those catastrophies which had cost so many tears and so much blood.
