JOINT STATEMENT
MOVE BY GREAT BRITAIN REQUEST TO FRANCE, POLAND AND RUSSIA. VIEWS AGAINST AGGRESSION. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright LONDON. March 22. ‘•The Times” says that Britain has asked France, Poland, and Russia tc consider the desirability of a joint statement, declaring their common view against acts of aggression and expressing their desire, not only to continue their consultations now, but tc consult immediately in the interests ol mutual defence if further aggression is believed to be imminent.
The form which the consultations would take has not yet been decided Russia suggested an immediate sixPower conference in Bucharest, whicl. the Tass News Agency in Moscow reports that Britain has turned down a; being premature, but it was indicated to Russia that Britain would consider the proposal carefully. Reuter says that the Cabinet is actively preparing a declaration of British policy which will be the subject of diplomatic exchanges among the Governments of eastern and south-east-ern Europe.
