“PREMIUM ON DISHONESTY”
FALSE EMPLOYMENT DECLARATIONS. CASE IN CARTERTON COURT. (“Times-Age” Special.) “T am not satisfied with just the payment of the money back as it is merely putting a premium on dishonesty." observed Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M.. in the Carterton Magistrate's Court yesterday when three charges pf obtaining benefits under the Employment Promotion Act by making false declarations in respect of his weekly earnings, were preferred against James Gordon MurMr A. H. Eddy. District Employment Officer, said it. would appear that the offences were deliberately' made. Mr Lawry' said he would order defendant to come up for sentence next Court day. Whether he fined him or not would depend on what amount of restitution he had made in the meantime.
