WARM WELCOME ON ARRIVAL IN LONDON THOUSANDS CHEER VISITORS. SCENES ON ROUTE TO PALACE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, March 21. Thousands of people cheered the arrival of M Lebrun (President of France) and Madame Lebrun at Dover. They left for London by a special train. Their Majesties, the King and Queen welcomed the M and Madame Lebrun at Victoria Station. Thousands cheered along the route to Buckingnam palace. The King wore a FieldMarshal’s uniform and the Queen wore a suit of a new Mayflower shade of lilac surmounted by an ostrich feather. SPONTANEOUS ENTHUSIASM. RECENT EVENTS ADD DRAMATIC TOUCH. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 21. Recent events added dramatic intensity to the warmth of the welcome accorded to M and Madame Lebrun and the spontaneous enthusiasm of the crowds continued in evidence throughout the day. Thus when M and Madame Lebrun in the afternoon, were driving to Marlborough House to visit Queen Mary, the people surged into the roadway and the car was brought to a standstill as men and women pressed around cheering wildly and waving miniature British and French flags. The Lebruns also visited the Institute Francais, in South Kensington, and heard the building declared open by the Princess Royal, who is copatron of the institute with M Lebrun. This evening their Majesties gave a State banquet at Buckingham Palace in honour of M’and Madame Lebrun, which was followed by a reception. The Foreign Minister, M Bonnet accompanied M Lebrun and will have opportunities of personal discussions on the international situation with Lord Halifax.

Lebrun and the Dukes of Gloucester and Kent rode in the first carriage and the Queen, Madame Lebrun and the Duchesses of Gloucester and Kent in the second. The procession to the Palace was escorted by Life Guards, via Whitehall and the Mall. M. Lebrun constantly acknowledged the crowds' thunderous cheers. Upon arrival at the Palace, the Princesses were presented to the visitors. Princess Elizabeth, speaking in French, thanked the children of France for sending her dolls. In response to appeals from the crowd, their Majesties, the Princesses and the Lebruns appeared on the Palace balcony for 31 minutes. DUKE OF KENT. PRESIDENT CONFERS HONOUR.
