SAVILE CUP TOURNAMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, March 20. The Savile Cup polo tournament opened today, four teams competing for the cup, Cambridge. Matangi, Hawke’s Bay, and Rangjtikei. This afternoon Cambridge met Rangitikei, and a fine game resulted, Rangitikei beating the cup holders by five goals to four. The outstanding players of the winning team were McKelvie and Hamish Wilson. In the Cambridge team Nolan was the only player to produce form. Both sides had good ponies. The second game was between Hawke’s Bay and Matangi, Hawke’s Bay winning by eight goals to four, proving definitely superior. This team was a very even combination, playing as a team and proving superior in tactics throughout.
