French troops are guarding strategic positions following upon disturbances after which France took over the maintenance of internal security. Demonstrations are forbidden. There is no indication of the ministerial crisis ending. MANY CASUALTIES. STUDENTS & POLICE CLASH. (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON. March 20. “The Times” Beirut correspondent reports that five persons were killed, and thirty wounded yesterday when the Damascus police fired on student demonstrators. who included girls.
