FINE ACHIEVEMENT

FARMERS’ UNION FLEECE COMPETITION. WON BY MR D. C. ROSS. “It is no mean achievement to win this cup in open competition against the whole of the, Wairarapa,” stated the President, Mr Hugh Morrison, when presenting at yesterday’s meeting of the Farmers’ Union the Alfred Matthews Memorial Cup for the Farmers’ Union fleece competition won by Mr D. C. Ross. Mr Morrison said it was gratifying to see that the son of a member of the Provincial Executive had won the cup against 65 competitors. Mr Ross was a Young Farmers’ Club member, and his success showed the value of that fine educational movement. Mr Ross was to be congratulated on his fine achievement.

Mr A. Ross accepted the cup on behalf of his son. \ .
