SCHOOL DESTROYED

BLAZE AT TE KUITI. (By Telegraph—Press’ Association.) TE KUITI, March 19. A fire this morning completely destroyed the central block of the Te Kuiti primary school buildings, consisting of five classrooms, the headmaster’s study, containing records and equipment, and the teachers’ room. The fire was well under way when it was noticed. Nothing was saved. The brigade prevented the flames from spreading to an adjoining block of buildings, although handicapped by low water pressure. It was a very spectacular blaze, which swept rapidly through the old wooden building. Temporary arrangements have been made for school classes.
