GERMAN PARADE THROUGH PRAGUE CROWDS GO INTO COUNTRY FOR THE DAY. PEOPLE IN STREETS TURN AWAY. (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.) PRAGUE, March 19. The Czechs pointedly ignored the parade of 10,000 German troops through the city. Crowds went into the country for the day, in order, to avoid witnessing the ceremonies. Czech flags which the Germans had ordered householders to fly, were removed overnight, the swastika alone decorating the buildings. Those persons strolling in the streets studiously turned their faces away as the troops passed and did not cheer. FLAGRANT VIOLATION OF MUNICH AGREEMENTS. TRENCH NOTE TO GERMANY. (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.) PARIS. March 19. The French Note to Germany complains of a “flagrant violation of the letter and spirit of the Munich agreements.” NAZI REPLY NOT ACCEPTING PROTESTS. It is officially stated that the British and French ambassadors were informed Germany was not in a position to accept protests regarding Czechoslovakia because they were “devoid any political. legal or moral basis.” ITALY REJOICES THE POSITION ACCORDING TO GAYDA.
