I.R.A. OUTRAGES
ACCUSED MAN FOUND GUILTY SENTENCE OF SEVEN YEARS' IMPRISONMENT. TWO OTHERS ACQUITTED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 17. Following on the hearing of charges arising out of the Liverpool I.R.A. qutrages, Thomas Kelly, James Hannan and Patrick Hannan were found not guilty and John Hannan was found guilty of conspiring to cause_ explosions, having explosives under nis control and possessing explosives with intent. John Hannan was sentenced io seven years’ imprisonment Thomas Kelly, a tobacconist, appeared in Manchester on January 24 on a charge of having been in possession of four lOOcwt. kegs of potassium chlorate for. an unlawful purpose, which he received from John Healy. The police, in evidence, stated that the kegs were not found in Kelly’s possession but traces of potassium adhered to some bags found on his premises. On February 7, Jqmes Hannan and his. two sons, Patrick and John were among seven others charged with alleged offences connected wi|h J.R.A. outrages.
