CHURCH SERVICES
The annual Harvest Festival services will be' observed at St Matthew's Church tomorrow. The Rev T. V. Pearson will be the preacher in the morning and the Rev F. A. Tooley, of Wellington, in the evening. Services will also be held at Kuripuni, Taueru, Rangitumau and Kopuaranga at the usual hours. The services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be conducted by Major Mahaffie and Captain Maddison. The Captain will' conduct the morning ser-’ vice and will speak, his subject bein«~*V ‘True Discipleship.” The service at Mauriceville in the afternoon will be conducted by Major Mahaffie, and in he evening service at Masterton the Major will take for his subject in this ;ervice, “A Great Challenge that Forced a Great Issue.’ At 7.45 p.m. a gospel open-air service will be held in Queen Street. All are heartily invited to these services. At the Methodist Church on Sunday morning, the Rev Fred J. Parker will be the preacher, his topic .'being “Patience, the Need of the Hour." The soloist is Mrs R. Davies. At the evening service Mr C. ■R. Goudge will speak on the subject, “Arc New Zealanders Prisoners in Their Own Country?” The soloist is Miss Doreen Jamieson. Attention is drawn to the annual garden party to be held next Saturday in the grounds of Mbs J. Elliott, Colombo Road. At the Kuripuni Methodist Church the morning service will be conducted by Mr A. Handyside. At the evening service the Rev Fred J. Parker will be the preacher. Special Harvest Festival services will be held at Mt Bruce at 2 p.m., the Masterton Choir rendering anthems and solos.
