WELLINGTON SALE. IMPROVED PRICES. There was keen competition at the fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hidef and tallow held yesterday by the combined Wellington brokers. Prices for sheepskins were fully firm and occasionally .’d a lb higher than last sale’s quotations. All grades of hides were in demand and generally improved prices were offering. Heavy ox advanced by id tc ;id a lb, and light ox and cow by l-8d a lb. Kip and yearling were not in such demand, and declined by about ?,c a lb. Calfskins were also lower by Jd a lb. There was no demand for tallow. The following is the range of prices: Dry Sheepskins: Halfbred, 7.‘d tc BJd; fine crossbred, Gyd to 8d; medium crossbred, 6,]d to 8d; coarse crossbred 5Ad to 8d; half wools. 4Jd to 7.}d: quarter wools, 4d to 61d; pelts, 2'd tc 4.3 d. Hides: Ox, 331 b to 441 b, 3 7-8 d to 5 5-8 d; 451 b to 521 b, 5 l-8d to 6d; 531 b to 591 b, 3.1 dto 6 l-8d; 601 b to 691 b, 51,d to 7 l-Bd.
