CONCERT AND DANCE

BIG CROWD IN ST. PATRICK'S HALL. EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT. St. Patrick’s Assembly Hall was crowded to the doors last night for the annual St. Patrick’s concert and dance. A first-class programme of varied items was presented and provided capital entertainment.

The dance was well patronised and excellent music was provided by the Blue River Dance Band. Mr W. Green was a capable M.C. An enjoyable supper was also served and altogether tne gathering was most successful. The concert programme was as follows:—

Opening chorus, “Little Red Lark,’ “Young May Moon,” St. Bride’s singing class; Irish reel, Patty O’Brien, Kathleen Stevens, Josephine Jameson, Norma Saunders; vocal solo, "SnowyBreasted Pearl,” Mr Dilnot-Wales; violin solo, “Souvenir,” Mr R. Trussing; tap dance, Ola Curry; percussion band, St. Bride’s juniors; Spanish dance, Madeline Jameson and Yvonne Saunders; recitation, “St. Patrick’s Birthplace,’ Norah Doyle; toe dance, Beulah Hurst; action song, “The Leprehaun,” St. Patrick’s singing class; violin solo, “Irish Fastasia,” Mr R. Trussing; vocal solo, “The Meeting of the Waters,” Mr Dil-not-Wales; “Pranks,” a farce in two acts: Captain Neverwed, Cecily O’Brien; Mrs Honeymoon, Valerie Bergin; Miss Kitty Gush, Joan McKenna; Miss Lucy Scatterbrain, Ola Curry; Miss Mary Prattle, Mary Wolland; Miss Alice Plotter, Catherine Brady; Miss Tattle, Noeline Kjestrup; Mrs Fireman, Maureen Syron; Mrs Clatter, Shirley Fantharh; Biddy, Kathleen Bergin; the maid, Marjorie Hourigan.
