MR W. M. HUGHES BECOMES ATTORNEY-GENERAL. TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) CANBERRA, Thia Day. The Federal Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons) stated that he did not propose to replace Mr Lawson, who ’has resigned the post of Parliamentary Secretary for the Treasury and Industry. Mr W. M. Hughes, Minister of External Affairs, is to be sworn in as Federal Attorney-General on Monday, to replace Mr R. G. Menzies. The appointment will be temporary.
