As a result of the recent visit of the Main Highways Board members to Alexandra, when a petition signed by representative citizens was presented requesting the erection of a new bridge’ over the Molyneux River at Alexandra, advice has now been received by Mr W. A. Bodkin, M.P.. states the “Otago Daily Times.’ that on its return to Wellington the Board decided to authorise the erection of a new structure with a 24-foot roadway and a footway for pedestrians. It is understood that the work will bo commenced as soon as the necessary plans and specifications can be prepared. The new bridge will be erected about two chains up-stream from the old structure.
