CARNIVAL WEEK
DANCE TO BE HELD TONIGHT.
CABARET TOMORROW EVENING.
A pleasant way of assisting the joint carnival of the Masterton Beautifying Society and the Y.M.C.A. will be afforded tonight at the Municipal Hall, when- a dance will be held, at which the wearing of flannels is optional. Popular prices will be charged. As two orchestras Have been engaged, Udy’s and Te Tail’s, patrons will be well catered for and an added attraction will be an exhibition dance item by Miss Holmwood’s pupils. Tomorrow night a cabaret will be held in the Municipal Hall and according to present indications there will be a large attendance of the public. Jack Mackay's Novelty Syncojiators will provide the music. Evening dress will, be optional. The final carnival effort will take place at the Park on Saturday afternoon and evening, when a real gala occasion promises to provide the public with a splendid entertainment. Such events as displays of marching bymassed school children, the inter-house girls’ teams and Scouts, besides athletic contests are included in the afternoon's programme and in the evening there, will be a fireworks display and gymnastics by a Y.M.C.A. squad. Stalls to suit all tastes and many sideshows of wide diversity will be popular with the public. Those who have bought badges are requested to wear them, so as to assist, the sellers. Badges will be on sale again tomorrow and on Saturday. The committee requests those who contemplate making donations or wno have offered to make donations to the carnival funds should do so not later than tomorrow.
